About The Event
In my classes I use the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment to make the yoga accessible for all. Most classes are level 1 and are suitable for all students who have tried yoga before.
The six week beginners courses is for those wishing to start from scratch or refresh their practice.
This six week course will teach you all the essentials you need to begin your
yoga journey or to deepen your existing yoga practice. It will give you the
groundwork and confidence to attend regular classes and give you familiarity
with, and understanding of, common poses and flows.
Everything starts with the breath. We will concentrate on settling and
grounding the body and mind before physical movement. We will then learn
key postures from each of the main groups including sun salutations, standing
poses, forward and back bends and twists. There will be a strong emphasis on
the importance of alignment in all postures, working at your own level to find
ease and stability in your poses and most importantly having some fun with it!
All classes will begin with a short grounding breath practice. We will warm
through the spine in all six directions. I may a variety of props to support and
assist you and I will offer adaptions to suit all and hands on adjustments if
necessary. The benefit of a sustained practice with me is that you will build
and reinforce knowledge learnt week on week and see your marked progress.
All classes will end with Savasana, the most important pose of all, the final
